7 Days of Big Five & Scenic Wonders

Experience the ultimate 7-day Tanzania safari through the country’s most spectacular wildlife destinations including Tarangire, Lake Natron, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Mto wa Mbu. This northern circuit safari is designed for travellers with extra time to explore Tanzania’s diverse ecosystems, from vast savannahs to volcanic highlands, while minimizing non-game-viewing travel.

 

Day 1 – Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Pickup from your hotel in Arusha, followed by a short briefing before heading to Tarangire National Park. Enjoy a full-day game drive in this park famous for elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and predators such as lions. Overnight in a tented campsite.

 

Day 2 – Tarangire Area & Lake Natron

Travel via Mto wa Mbu to the Rift Valley and the Maasai village of Ngare Sero. Spot flamingos on the alkaline Lake Natron (seasonal) and take a guided walk to a nearby waterfall. Overnight at a campsite.

 

Day 3 – Lake Natron & Serengeti National Park

Drive along dirt tracks with breath-taking Rift Valley views and enter the Serengeti National Park. Experience the endless plains and abundant wildlife. Overnight at a northern or central Serengeti campsite.

Day 4 – All Day Serengeti National Park Safari

Spend a full day exploring the Serengeti with morning and afternoon game drives. Observe herds of wildebeests, zebras, and elusive predators like leopards. Overnight at a Seronera campsite.

Day 5 – Serengeti National Park & Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Morning game drive in Serengeti, then head to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Overnight at a campsite on the crater rim, ideal for sunset views over the volcanic landscape.

Day 6 – Ngorongoro Crater to Mto wa Mbu

Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater at daybreak. Spot the Big Five, hippos, zebras, wildebeests, and over 500 bird species. Picnic lunch inside the crater before driving to Mto wa Mbu for overnight camping.

Day 7 – Mto Wa Mbu to Arusha

After breakfast, return to Arusha for drop-off at your hotel or airport, concluding your 7-day wildlife adventure.
